GNU Project  http://www.gnu.org

This project has been integral to Linux since it's beginning.  An excellent place to learn about GNU philosophy and how the GPL (the linux licence) came into being.

Enlightenment  http://www.enlightenment.com

The Enlightenment windows manager is a personal favorite.  This home page is the first place to look for news on enlightenment.  You can download and install or get new themes and configuration tips

GNOME Project http://www.gnome.org

This site will keep you up to date will all the latest about the GNOME project.  check it out

Linux Apps  http://www.xnet.com/~blatura/linapps.shtml

This page contains a good listing of applications, free and commercial, available for Linux.  Certainly worth checking outif you are a new or seasoned user.   Discover that there are many alteratives to the MS solution out there.

Kernel.org  http://www.kernel.org

This is where you can find the very latest kernels available for download.  Be sure to check the nmirror sites for faster downloads at peak times.
